Heartbreak

March 10, 2014

Who doesn't love the underdog?

With an incredibly difficult start, Atholton High School was able to bring back hope with a huge comeback. Taking the game into double overtime and showing Polytechnic that they were there to play.

By the end of the first overtime period it was obvious that both teams had put everything they had on the court and impressed every individual in the gym.

Unfortunately for Atholton, despite the late game comeback, persistent play and great support from their fellow students they were defeated by Polytechnic.

I was ready, ready to shoot the amazing celebration that Atholton would throw after clinching the regional title. Camping by their bench through the forth quarter and both overtime periods.

To my displeasure I ended up photographing their defeat. Although it was sad for many, it only showed how much these girls loved what they were doing, how much a win meant for them and how much they cared about their fellow teammates.

All in all both teams should be proud to be apart of the excitement.

Until next time, take care!
